$50K prize for 3 best ideas to strengthen community property rights
Ashoka’s Changemakers and the Omidyar Network are running a competition through November 3, 2010 to find innovative solutions that strengthen property rights in order to unleash economic and social opportunity.
Nominate or enter a solution that gives people the incentive and ability to
invest in their land, earn income from their property, and build long-term
security for their families.We welcome solutions that employ a range of approaches, especially those
that work to provide land to the landless, help to formalize and document
property rights for individuals or communities that lack established rights to
land and other assets, or work on legal education to help people understand
and benefit from the laws that protect these assets.
The three winners will each receive a cash prize of US $50,000. Participation in the competition provides the opportunity to receive feedback on your solution from fellow entrants, Changemakers staff, judges, and the Changemakers community.
